What the work costs

What does the work described in these notes cost?

The diagnostic is $80 flat and comes off the repair. Once the fault is found, the work below lands between $190 and $1,010 in parts and labour on this equipment.

Diagnostic fee and the researched repair bands for this equipment, parts and labour together.
The work Parts and labour
Diagnostic visit $80 flat, credited to the repair
Igniter or burner assembly $190–$540
Control board or touch panel $410–$1,010
Oven thermostat or heating element $190–$600

These are the bands that fit this page. The rest of the book is on the pricing page. A range is what an appliance this size can honestly be described by before anyone has opened it; the firm figure is written down after the diagnostic and before a part is ordered. Every repair carries 90 days on labour and 365 days on parts.

Asked on the phone

Are these notes written from real calls?

Yes, and written after them rather than before. There are no product recommendations, no affiliate links and no invented statistics in them. Where a note quotes a figure it is either a published local fact or one of the repair bands from the pricing page.

Can I use these to fix the appliance myself?

The cleaning and the checking, yes — the condenser grille, the burner ports, the filter and the drain path are all householder work and doing them well genuinely delays the next call. Anything behind a panel, on a gas connection or inside a sealed system is not.
