## Are you Viking's own service company?

No. Breakwater Appliance Co. is an independent appliance repair company. We are not affiliated with, authorized by, or endorsed by Viking or its parent company, and nothing on this site should be read as saying otherwise.

What that means in practice: no manufacturer contract behind the work, no dispatch queue deciding the order of the day, and no third-party administrator deciding which part gets replaced. You decide, on a written estimate.

## Will you look at a different make of appliance?

No. Viking equipment only — professional ranges, rangetops and cooktops, wall ovens, ventilation hoods, built-in refrigeration, dishwashers, outdoor grills. Nothing else comes in the van.

That is a deliberate limit rather than a negotiating position. Working one brand means the parts on board are usually the right parts and the second visit is usually not needed. If you call about another manufacturer's appliance you will be told on the phone, not charged for someone to come and say so.

## What does a visit cost?

$129 flat, per appliance, per visit. Flat diagnostic fee, credited toward the repair if you go ahead with it.

There is no separate call-out charge on top of it, no hourly meter running while the appliance is being looked at, and no premium for a beach address inside the service area.

## When do I find out what the repair will cost?

A written estimate comes before any work starts. Nothing is ordered or opened up until you approve it in writing.

If the price has to change once the appliance is open, work stops and a revised estimate is issued for approval before it goes any further. Nothing gets ordered on a verbal maybe.

## What is covered afterwards?

90 days on labour and 365 days on parts, from the date of the repair. Genuine OEM parts only.

The cover follows the specific repair and the specific parts fitted. A different fault, in the same appliance or another one, is a new job — and it is quoted as one rather than argued about.

## Where do you actually go?

The beaches, the Intracoastal, and the near east side of Jacksonville: Jacksonville Beach, South Jacksonville Beach, Isle of Palms, Neptune Beach, Atlantic Beach, Ponte Vedra Beach, Marsh Landing, Sawgrass Country Club and the addresses between them.

Each place gets its own page on this site because each place breaks equipment differently. Distance from the surf, the era the kitchen was built in and how the equipment was installed into it all change within a few miles here.

## What hours do you work?

Monday – Friday 8:00am – 6:00pm, Saturday 9:00am – 4:00pm. Closed Sunday.

Booked by appointment. No after-hours or emergency call-out. There is no after-hours rate on this site because there is no after-hours service to sell.

## Why do you ask so much about the kitchen before you come out?

Because access is the variable that decides how long the visit takes, and it is the one thing that cannot be worked out on the phone from the symptom alone. A professional range weighs several hundred pounds and a built-in refrigeration column carries its weight high in a narrow cabinet. Which floor the kitchen is on, what the floor is made of, and whether the appliance can come forward at all are answered before the van is loaded, not afterwards.

The other half of it is the order the diagnosis runs in. Supply and grounding get measured before a control board is ever quoted, because a shared or undersized circuit produces exactly the symptom list a tired board does — and knowing what the kitchen was built as, and when, usually tells us which of the two we are about to find.

## What should I have ready when I ring?

The symptom in your own words — what it does, when it started, and whether anything changed in the house around the same time. A symptom is more useful than a guess at the cause.

The model and serial number if you can read them without moving anything heavy, and where the appliance sits: ground floor, raised slab, second floor, or outdoor kitchen. Access decides how many people turn up.

## Do you fit used or aftermarket parts?

Genuine OEM parts only. Nothing salvaged, nothing pattern-made, nothing carried over from another machine.

On the coast that matters more than it does inland. A pattern part with a thinner plating spec can look identical on the day and be weeping rust by the following summer.

## Can you come out tonight?

No. There is no emergency or 24-hour service here, and advertising one would be false. Calls are booked into working hours.

If a gas smell, a burning smell or standing water is involved, shut off the supply at the appliance and call the utility first. A repair appointment is the second call, not the first.

## How do I book?

By phone: +1 (904) 395-4339. A person answers, and the person who answers is the person who will look at the appliance.

There is no booking form on this site and no chat widget. Both of those would need a third-party script, and this site loads nothing from anyone else's server.

Terms in full: pricing,
warranty, and the
independent standing behind both.
